Mr. Lawrence “Larry” Dikeman, age 81, of Grand Haven was embraced by his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at the Poppen Hospice Residence after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 11, 1934, in Muskego Read Obituary
We only knew Larry for a short time from Christian Haven as my mother was a resident there also. He was such a sweet, friendly person. He always had a smile for us and always had time to talk to us. He was someone that we felt blessed to get to know even if only for a short time. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his family

I have so many good memories of Larry. When His Mom was at Christian Haven Home and then when they said he could not come to CHH and I said yes he can and got Him There where He loved it and had many friends and was encouraging to many others there.
My Husband Terry was able to take Him out for perch at Whitlows they both enjoyed that.
My sympathy to Judy, Dave and Family. He was a great Man and I feel blessed to
have know Him.
He will be missed! but led a good life and left behind great accomplishments to be proud of.

"Larry was an accomplished jokester, remembering and telling nearly every joke he ever heard. He also was a prankster. One of his best pranks happened at Higgins Lake. He presented each of the other 5 fishermen in our group with a scratch off card after we agreed to split any prize we won. I happened to get the card with a substantial prize. We were all overjoyed, and began making plans how we would spend the money. After about 30 minutes of excited discussion, someone asked where we could redeem the card. In small print on the back of the card, it said we could collect our prize at "YO MAMMAS HOUSE " in Detroit. Way to go, Larry,

My family is praying for your family to be comforted in this difficult time. I work with Mr. Dikeman's grandson Steve in the Chicago area. Steve has so many extraordinary attributes and gifts that can only be passed from generation to generation typically coming from a strong grandparent. It sure sounds like Mr. Dikeman was that strong grandparent and he had those same extraordinary attributes and gifts.

Larry was an honorable man. Working with him and knowing him, is a memory I will always cherish. He loved hearing and telling a good joke, and he knew a lot of them. He loved his children very deeply. We lost a loyal friend and a good man.
