Lawrence "Larry" Dikeman's Obituary
Mr. Lawrence “Larry” Dikeman, age 81, of Grand Haven was embraced by his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at the Poppen Hospice Residence after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 11, 1934, in Muskegon to Gerald M. Dikeman and Loryce V. Sutter.
Larry proudly served in the US Marine Corps from 1955-58 where he learned the art of photography. He built a successful commercial/Industrial photography business, working over 41 years and completing over 19,000 jobs for his customers. He loved to fish and looked forward to his fishing trips to Higgins Lake and Sanibel Island. He was also an avid gardener and collector of Coca-Cola items and other historic memorabilia.
Larry married Joan Kulesza in 1959 in Muskegon and were married for 41 years. They were blessed to still be very good friends. He is survived by his former wife, Joan Dikeman; two children: Judy (Todd) Brower, and David (Lorie) Dikeman; three grandchildren: Ashley Brower, Steve (Kaitlin) Brower, and Nathan Dikeman; four step-grandchildren: Joe (Kortney) Dresen, Aleesha Kitchen, Amber Hittle, John Hittle; and eight step-great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank his wonderful friends at Christian Haven Home.
A memorial service will be held 1 PM Friday, November 20, 2015, at The Lee Chapel – 6291 S. Harvey, Norton Shores, MI 49444. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday, November 19, 2015 at the funeral home.
