Memories of Mr. Saylor ("Please, call me Lee"), ok, Lee. Road trips to De Smet, McDonalds; oh how he favored that place!; His welcoming smile ; listening to Lee and Rick talking over where to hunt next ; Manhattans (just a taste or two Mrs. Saylor, I promise) ; the joy of talking over birds seen and bagged ; unending energy to find a better price! His love of his family! His ability, even in his late 80's to do the dirty work instead of letting the young bucks do all the dirty work of cleaning up after a day of hunting. I never once heard his complain of aches nor pains! Neither did he ever complain of seemingly anything about less than optimal trailer cleanliness (we did get it at a good price!!). Manhattans, did I say manhattans (just a taste or two Mrs. Saylor, I promise). Lee was a man who made others feel comfortable and welcome, he had a kind and polite demeaner that is a measuring stick that most of us, today, cannot measure up to. He was not a braggart, nor one who seeked to see that he get ahead over anyone else. Lee, you are a gem, the kind of man who I admired. I also was able to witness, first hand, the love and respect he had for Rick. What a beautiful and kind example he was to us all. Lee, may your time somehow be filled with many rooster flushes!! Thank you for your example to me.
