Lee Henry Saylor's Obituary
Lee Henry Saylor, age 91, passed away on August 31, 2022 at home. He was born on February 20, 1931 to Max and Rose (Wilkins) Saylor in Hill City, Minnesota. Lee graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in engineering. One month later, he was drafted and served his country in the United States Army prior to his discharge in 1962. He retired in 1990 from Sealed Power in Muskegon working 28 years as an engineer. Most importantly, Lee enjoyed his family and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was also an avid hunter, fisherman and a great athlete. Lee grew up playing baseball and was asked to play in the Army league, and later managed the Pepsi League in Muskegon for many years. On March 25, 1953, he married the love of his life, Marlene Deyo in Muskegon and they have been married for 69 years. Marlene survives him along with three children; Rick (Sue Janes) Saylor, Sue (Dave Andrews) Kelly and John (Patricia) Saylor; grandchildren, Catrina, Jake, Maureen (Ryan), Nolan (Whitney), Nick, Maggie (Noah), Jessica, Jenny and Theresa; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, MaryAnn Lestinsky. Lee was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Winfred Clark, Maxine Ghezzi, and Colleen McRoberts; brothers, William Saylor and James Saylor. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held for Lee at 11:00am, Thursday, September 8, 2022 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. VISITATION with the family will be 5:00pm to 7:00pm the evening prior at the funeral home. MEMORIALS can be directed to the American Heart Association.
