Leta Henrickson's Obituary
Leta Henrickson aged 95 of Grand Haven, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020 at a local care facility. She was born March 13, 1925 in Grand Haven to E. Robert and Iva (Crockford) Owens. She married Hal Henrickson on June 2, 1950 in Grand Haven.
She was a member of Grand Haven High School class of 1943 and went on to earn a business degree from Western Michigan University. She worked as an executive secretary for Miller Paint Co. and Camfield Mfg. Co. Leta was also employed for many years by North Ottawa Community Hospital as a medical transcriptionist.
First and foremost, Leta was devoted to her family. She supported and contributed to every aspect of their lives. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother for two different dens in the Tri-Cities. She loved family gatherings, bringing everyone together. Her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren were a source of great pride. Leta was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church of the Dunes, actively participating in Women’s Society, Esther Circle, Communion server, Prayer Support team, and Stephen Ministry. Leta was an avid bridge player and loved outdoor activities. She participated on the Church of Dunes golf league for many years. In retirement, Leta and Hal spent the winter months in Arizona enjoying golf and desert hiking. Friendships were important to her where she cultivated many over the years.
Leta is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Steven Bye, her son, Jeff Henrickson, her grandchildren: D J and (Alyse) Henrickson, Jaime and (Tom) Barrett, Ryan Bye and Sara and (Brian) Winter. Her great-grandchildren: Xander and Cora Lee Henrickson and Maren and Eli Winter. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Ruth and (Harold) Severance, and several nieces and nephews. Leta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hal, her beloved son, David Henrickson, and her beloved sister, Betty Norris.
Leta’s family would like to thank the staff at American House – Spring Lake for their kind and compassionate care.
