Mrs. Lileon Marie Holtrop, age 96, passed away Saturday evening, August 7, 2004 in Muskegon. She was born December 28, 1907 to Per August and Caroline Marie (Anderson) Pearson in Boone, IA, and has lived in the Muskegon area for 8 Read Obituary
Every good childhood memory in my life involves Lileon. When i think of her, i think of birds, lilies of the valley, and her rubarb pie she made me try as a child. I used to be her next door neighbor from age 1-11. Just remembering how lucky i was to grow up with Lileon makes me wish my children had the same. I feel very blessed to gain wisdom from Lileon as a child and later as an adult with my own two children she was my best friend##imported-begin##melinda olivares##imported-end##
Mrs. Holtrop was quite a godly woman and I thought she was very nice. I appreciated her lovely smile. I am very glad that I was able to know her. Her husband,Mr. Holtrop, worked with my dad, Gerald Bush. I know that she went to heaven to be with Jesus and I rejoice in that. I know that her family will miss her very much . Mrs. Lileon Holtrop was a very special person to my family and I. Bob and Lileon were our neighbors when we lived on E. Forest many years ago. They were more than neighbors, they were more like Grandparents to us kids. My mom often joked and said Lileon probably has more pictures of us kids than she did. We moved away in 1981, but always stayed in contact with Lileon. We will miss her dearly.
