Lileon Marie Holtrop's Obituary
Mrs. Lileon Marie Holtrop, age 96, passed away Saturday evening, August 7, 2004 in Muskegon. She was born December 28, 1907 to Per August and Caroline Marie (Anderson) Pearson in Boone, IA, and has lived in the Muskegon area for 85 years. Mrs. Holtrop worked for Sealed Power before retiring in 1970. Lileon was active with Brookhaven Auxiliary, and she was a chaplain for the American Legion and DAV. She was a member of Black Creek Bible Church. Lileon married Ralph Boyer in 1936 and he preceded her in death on Nov. 2, 1955. She then married Robert LaVern Holtrop in Muskegon on October 10, 1959 and he preceded her in death on March 30, 1982. Mrs. Holtrop is also preceded in death by 1 daughter, Patricia Winnick; her parents, 1 brother, and 1 sister. She is survived by her son, Gerald L. Boyer of Fruitport; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. Services will be 10AM Wednesday at the Sytsema Funeral Home, Inc., 737 Apple Ave., 231-726-5210, with Rev. Lawrence Bush officiating. Visitation with the family will be 4-8PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Mona View Cemetery. Memorials in Mrs. Holtrop’s name can be made to Black Creek Bible Church.
