Lillie M. Solokis' Obituary
Lillie M. Solokis, age 99, passed away Monday, June 16, 2025 in Muskegon. She was born on August 25, 1925 in Winchendon, MA to Ralph and Margery (Lamphere) Boone and resided in the Muskegon area for most of her life.
Lillie was a longtime member of Breakwater Church of the Nazarene in Norton Shores, where she served on the church board and as the Events Coordinator. She spent over 20 years working as a waitress at American BBQ. Lillie was known for her exceptional cooking, especially her pies and potato salad. She also enjoyed bowling throughout the years.
On August 24, 1973, she married John Solokis and he preceded her in death in 1999.
SURVIVORS include three children, Diane (Paul) Schulte, Gail (David) VanSuch, and Lawrence “Larry” Bird; step-son, Thomas Solokis; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren. Lillie was also preceded in death by her first husband, Irvin Bird; daughter, Linda Bird, and brothers, Daniel Boone and Lawrence Boone.
MEMORIAL SERVICES will be 1 PM Saturday, June 21, 2025 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service, from 12p-1p also at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions to Breakwater Church of the Nazarene or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
