Linda R. Hood, age 68, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at home. She was born on August 20, 1955, to James and Minnie (Thomas) Hood at Fort Campbell in Kentucky, eventually calling Michigan home. Linda graduated from Flushin Read Obituary
I always had fun and a laugh with Linda. I appreciate a good sense of humor. I am grateful for the work Linda put into making the college a better place. On behalf of myself and the MCC Faculty Association, our deepest condolences and sympathies to the family of our retired member Linda Hood.

I had the privilege of working with Linda while at Baker College. Linda was always a supportive, enthusiastic and passionate educator and professional. My deepest condolences to her family.
Linda and I worked with other faculty members to establish a new scholarship at MCC a few years ago. Her kindness, enthusiasm, and commitment to students were inspiring, and it was a privilege to have had her as a colleague. My sincere condolences to Linda’s family and friends on their loss.
I met this wonderful lady through her sister paula Rahe in 2004 during my practicums while attending Baker college. They both were a delight to be around. I have never met a more giving person than Linda. She stood for righteousness and portrayed that in her life. It was a honor being her massage therapist for a few years until my car accident. Linda was planning on attending my wedding in June but, God had other plans. May she rest in peace and may God comfort Paula, her niece and all who were close to her and the lives she touched. Linda Hood made a difference and will be truly missed. My heart is broken.
I only knew Linda for a brief time at MCC; she was retiring the same year that I started teaching there. She was so very supportive in guiding me through the technology hurdles as a new faculty member. I appreciated her thoughtfulness and genuine spirit.
Condolences to her family. Linda and I became best friends and also neighbors when she first moved to work at Baker College. We drifted apart some when we retired and moved to Florida. She and her mom visited us in Florida. We kept in touch but wish it had been more. God has an extra special angel as she was that here on earth to so many.
Linda was wonderful person she will be sadly missed by her MCC family.
I knew Linda when we were both at Davenport. She was (is) a fantastic educator, colleague, and person overall. My deepest condolences to her family and close friends.
As mentioned in my previous post, Linda loved animals. Here she is with her beloved Shadow. She adopted him from a litter my daughter rescued. He was the most skittish kitten. She patiently worked with him until she won him over.
