I am so very sorry to have just heard about Linda. She and I worked together for many years at the reception desk of the Chronicle newsroom, especially during those early morning shifts. She was one of the most sweet-natured, caring, tender-hearted people I ever knew and although it's been many years since I saw her, she was often on my mind. She was especially kind and thoughtful to my son Daniel when we still lived in Muskegon. David and Jennifer,

I was so saddened today to learn of your Mother's passing. I have known your Mom since high school. We graduated from MHS way back in 1965. I was hoping to see her at the reunion next year. Please accept my condolences and know that I too will miss her and her wonderful smile and laughter. I know how much she loved each of you.

The three Andersen boys, Frank/Roy/Wally, mourn the loss of our cousin Linda (Hajek) Cone. We remember Linda from her earliest days as a baby. When she was older, she was interested in everything and would ask us boys questions constantly. Her dad, Otto Hajek (our Uncle Otts), lived with us on the farm in Montague in the early '40s. He found work at the New Era Canning Factory. There was a little restaurant attached to the Cannery, named the Canteen. A young lady named Lucille Aardema worked there. One thing led to another, and Otto and Lucille got married. Thereafter, a daughter Linda Lee Hajek was born. We mourn the loss of Uncle Otts and Aunt Cile, and now Cousin Linda. To Linda's Family:
I would just like to extend my deepest sympathies in the passing of your dear mom, Linda. I first met Linda, when she entrusted her mom, Lucille, into our care at Christian Care Nursing Center. I am the Activity Director at CCNC. Linda was always so caring and faithful to her dear mother. I continued my involvement with Linda-when I would bring many birthday notices from our residents to the Chronicle to be published. It was a pleasure and a privilege to have known Linda and her dear mother. It won't be the same when I go to the Chronicle again. I am so sorry for the loss of such a precious, sweet person. My deepest condolences to the Cone family. I worked at the Muskegon Chronicle with Linda sitting nearby for more years than I want to count. She was always obliging and pleasant and a front-desk fixture in the newsroom. I still have a Christmas wreath I bought from Linda long ago and still put it up every year. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Dear Jennifer and Dave, I was a childhood friend of your mom's - Angel School on up. I lived on Amity, Linda on Oak. We had such good times. Dave,

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. Growing up she was so sweet to me, she will be missed. Some of my fondest memories in elementary school were of class parties. At the center of the party planning was always Mrs. Cone trying to make things unique and fun for a bunch of little kids, she was a special lady.

Please know my thoughts are with you and your sister. Hold on to your memories tightly and she'll never be far away.
