Lois A. Christman's Obituary
Lois Austin Christman, age 85, of Spring Lake passed away Monday, January 3, 2011, at a local hospital. She was born November 4, 1925, in Grand Haven to the late Clarence and Jennie (Bolt) Austin.
After graduation from Grand Haven High School, Lois earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Michigan University. She married James D. Christman following graduation and his return from the service. They lived their entire married life in Spring Lake where he was in business and active in village government. He preceded her in death in 2006.
She was a former member of the Spring Lake Yacht Club, Spring Lake Country Club, and the Spring Lake Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her two sons, James A. (Jane) and Douglas K. (Barrie), and two granddaughters, Jill (Bailey) Pratt and Lauren Christman. Other survivors include a sister, Kathleen (Robert) Lucking; a brother-in-law, George (Shirley) Christman; a sister-in-law, Rosemary Lilley; and many nieces and nephews. A brother, Don B. Austin, preceded her in death.
