Loretta was like a second mom to my brothers and I. We were very blessed to have her with us instead of going to daycare. We have countless memories of her taking us to the beach, to spend time with her family, run us around to friends and allowed friends to come hang out with us. One of my favorites memories was when she unfortunately slipped down our basement stairs but I was on a quest to ask for permission to go to a friend’s house. When I found her, there she sat on the floor at the bottom of the stairs and I said: what are you doing down there? Her response was slightly angry and she yelled: just hanging out with the spiders what do you think I’m doing? So I replied: that’s strange….can I go to Stephanie’s house? Ohhhhhh was she ever mad at me that day. But in all seriousness, I knew growing up that I could rely on her just like I could my own mother. I will be forever thankful to have had all of those years with her and every Christmas when I put up the artificial tree she gave me, I’ll think of her. You will be so missed Loretta, thank you for loving my brothers and I as you did.
