Loretta Jean Dexter, age 66, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Loretta was born in Muskegon, Michigan on September 23, 1959 to Kenneth and Joan (VanderSlute) Dexter. Loretta lived a life full of love, generosity, and compassion. She spent many years helping others as a nanny and caregiver, touching countless lives with her kindness and dedication. Loretta was active in TOPS Club for many years and enjoyed making jewelry and crafts, sharing her creativity and warmth with those around her. She is survived by her three brothers, Jack (Meri) Dexter, Allen (Susie) Dexter, and Thomas (Sue) Dexter; nieces and nephews, Brandon (Nancy) Dexter, Heidi (Harry) Wojahn, Tabitha Shaw, Keith (Heather) Cranston, Joshua (Heather) Dexter and Joseph (Andrea) Dexter. A CELEBRATION OF LORETTA’S LIFE will be held at 3PM Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Laketon Bethel Reformed Church, 1568 W. Giles Road, Muskegon, MI 49445. VISITATION with her family will be one hour prior to her service. Burial will be in Laketon Township Cemetery. MEMORIALS in memory of Loretta may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
