Lorrie Lou (Leutscher) Ornelas' Obituary
Mrs. Lorrie Lou (Leutscher) Ornelas, age 68, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence. She was born July 10, 1943 in Watsonville, CA, to Louis and Josephine (Lieffers) Leutscher and lived in the area most of her life. She was married to Dominic M. Ornelas and he preceded her in death in 1992. Lorrie was the owner and operator of Lorrie’s Leading Lady Clothing Apparel for 14 years and had also worked for Doo Drop Inn Restaurant. Lorrie was a former Big Red Band Parent for many years. SURVIVORS include her children, Dominique “Nickey” Ornelas, Anthony Ornelas of Grand Rapdis, Annette Ornelas of Muskegon; her mother, Josephine Leutscher; her sister, Linna Durga of Whitehall; honorary grandchildren, the Denslow kids; several nieces and nephews; and close friends, Geri Denslow, Dennis Snider, Chris Adams, and Cheryl Hopkins. Along with her husband, she was also preceded in death by her father, Louis Leutscher, and her brother, Bradley Leutscher. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey Street, (231) 798-1100. VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the service, 12-1 PM Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Lorrie’s memory to Living with Cancer Support Group through Mercy Health Partner’s Hackley Campus or Muskegon Big Reds Band Association.
