Mrs. Louise E. Rorapaugh's Obituary
Mrs. Louise Estella Rorapaugh, age 85, passed away Monday morning, September 15, 2014. She was born May 26, 1929 in Harrisburg, PA to Franklin and Gladys (Gettle) Auxer. She earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Criminology and Sociology at the University of Central Florida. Louise worked as an LPN for Crestwood Community Hospital in Huntsville, AL and as a gardener for Focal Point Landscaping and Nursery in Geneva, FL before retiring in 2010. Louise was proud of the fact that she still mowed her 2 acres of home and barn yard grass until the age of 82. She loved all God’s creatures great and small and was a longtime supporter of the local Humane Society. She was an avid gardener, published poet, and loved getting people together to eat all of her fantastic cooking. On August 22, 1948 she married Harry “Cort” Rorapaugh in Goldsboro, PA and he survives her along with 2 children: Sharon (Ron) Kiel of Montague, Jerri (John) Pamplin of Clearmont, FL; 4 grandchildren: Alyn, Alanah, Megan, and Braden; and a sister: Elizabeth (Gary) Green of Colorado Springs, CO. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, and a sister. A GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 20, 2014, at Eagles Cemetery in New Era, MI. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held later in October at the Montague United Methodist Church with Pastor Mary Brown officiating. MEMORIALS to the Humane Society of Oceana County or Harbor Hospice will be appreciated.
