Lowell A. Wolffis' Obituary
Mr. Lowell A. Wolffis, age 79, passed away Thursday afternoon, September 7, 2006, in Muskegon. He was born April 29, 1927 in Muskegon to Claude & Catherine (Kuiper) Wolffis and had been a life resident. Lowell was a graduate of Muskegon School of Business and had been an accountant for Monarch Pattern Corp. for 30 years, prior to his retirement in 1984. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II and a charter member of Westwood Reformed Church where he has served as its Treasurer for over 35 years and had previously been a Sunday school teacher and choir member. On June 6, 1947 he married the former Jean VanDyke and she survives him along with 3 children, Gregg (Lee) Wolffis of Port Charlotte, FL, Claudia (Edward) Misze of Muskegon and Marcia (John) vonEhr of West Olive, MI; 8 grandchildren, Jennifer (Aaron) Dana of Allendale, Alicia Wolffis of Gainesville, FL, Jared Wolffis of Port Charlotte, FL, Bethany (Chris) Griswold & Ted (Shannon) Misze of Muskegon, Justin, Renee and Jason vonEhr of West Olive; 2 great-grandson, Colton Dana of Allendale and Nathen Griswold of Muskegon; and by his sister, Gay (John “Dob”) Sieplinga. Lowell was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dick Wolffis. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11 AM Monday, September 11, 2006 at Westwood Reformed Church (3025 Glenside Blvd.) with the Rev. David Willerup officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
