To all of our family, friends and co-workers of our beloved son, Lucas,
We wish to take this time to personally thank each and everyone of you for your love, support, cards, many hugs and words of encouragement and generosity. We took and will continue to take great strength and solace in the many stories and memories shared by all. As Lucas' parents, we are so proud that others also saw the wonderful person our son was. "It is hard to forget someone who gave so much to remember." Furthermore, words cannot express our gratitude to Sytsema Funeral Services for their expertise, professionalism, support and caring during our darkest hour. Mr. Scott Vanderlaan and all the staff were there to help us through this difficult process. Their genuine caring shined thru every step of the way. For that, we will be forever grateful.
God Bless You,
The Family of Lucas A. Hicks
Lucas was so smart and funny and fun and caring. I had the pleasure of getting to know him at Math/Science summer camp. You could always count on him for homework help and a good laugh. His smile lit every room he was in and his light went out way too soon. He is greatly missed.

I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the Hicks Family. Lucas and I attended school together from elementary through high school together. We shared many jokes and laughter thru the years. May god comfort you all, and May he rest in peace.
Love,
Kendra Foster

I had the privilege of working with Lucas at Old Navy in Grandville. I was always amazed at how positive and caring he was at any time of the day. His laugh was contagious. And anyone who worked with him will forever remember him reminding us "to go for those three no's" when asking customers to open an Old Navy Card. It is rare to find someone in this world as genuine as Lucas. Although I had not worked with him since he moved to the Muskegon Old Navy a few months prior, I connected with him on LinkedIn just a few short weeks ago. Lucas is a reminder to take advantage of every day we have with the ones we love. Words cannot express how saddened I am from his passing. I was hoping I would be able to attend the visitation, but I am at Valparaiso University in Indiana and am unable. Please know that Lucas was beloved by his Old Navy family. The world does not feel as complete without him. God Bless.

Lucas was a friendly person and always smiling. He would help someone whenever he could when we when was in school I've known Lucas since 6th grade. He was our class President. May he rest in peace. Class of 02. You are gone but won't be forgotten.
