Lucas A. Hicks' Obituary
Lucas Alan Hicks, age 33, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Muskegon, MI on October 9, 2017. He attended Oakview Elementary, Steele Jr. High, and graduated from Muskegon High School in 2002 with top honors. Lucas graduated in the top ten of his class as well as being his senior class president. He went on to attend Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, MI and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism in 2007. Lucas was currently working in retail management at Old Navy in Muskegon where he had worked for 10 years. Lucas had a beautiful, loving, personality and the most gorgeous smile. He loved to listen to music, watch the latest hit movies, and go to the Cinema with his brother. Lucas loved dogs, and while growing up had two: Zeus and Pepper. He also liked to draw and was very creative. He had a great sense of style, which he got from his grandmother, and wore all the latest fashion. Hence, working at Old Navy was a good fit for him. He also liked to travel. In high school he went to Japan, Jamaica, and Hawaii. Lucas was adored by his three nephews: JJ, Kamdon, Aaron, and his niece, Hailiana, whom he loved spending time with. He is survived by and is the beloved son of Mark and Peggy Sue Hicks; brothers: Mark Wardell Hicks, Jr. of Detroit, Jonathan Kurtis (wife Jessica) Hicks of Muskegon; grandmother, Lille Bell Hicks; uncle, James Ricky Hicks, Jr.; aunt, Gloria Hicks; and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins. Lucas will forever be in the hearts of all who loved him. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, James Wardell Hicks, Sr.; uncle, Fred Rogers; great-aunt, Mary White; maternal grandparents: Juan and Cipriana Ruiz; and great-grandfather, Jose Ruiz. To all who grieve with our family, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
IF I SHOULD GO TOMORROW
It will never be good bye
For I have left my heart with you
So don’t you cry
The love that is deep within me
Shall reach you from the stars
You’ll feel it from the heavens
And it will heal the scars
