Lucy (Lyyli) M. Koski's Obituary
Mrs. Lucy (Lyyli) M. Koski, age 92, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2006. She was born on January 19, 1914 to Andrew and Lydia (Niemi) Kauranen in Watton, MI and has resided in the Muskegon area since 1944. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was very active in the church circle and altar guild. Mrs. Koski volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader for many years. She had a love for children, traveling and working in her garden. On February 25, 1937 she married Arne M. Koski in Newberry, MI and he preceded her in death on June 10, 1967. SURVIVORS include 2 sons, Karl (Sylvia) Koski of Muskegon and Arne (Peggy) Koski of Bolingbrook, Il; 4 daughters, Elsa (Ronald) Pesch of Muskegon, Bette (James) Westgate of Fremont, Gail Vandervest of Tallahassee, FL and Maija (Jon) Hayes of Wasilla, Al, 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Elizabeth Goodrow of Wisconsin and Wilma Meranuck of Bradenton, FL and special niece Jean Torgerson along with many more nieces and nephews. Mrs. Koski was also preceded in death by her parents, 7 sisters and 4 brothers. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Saturday, July 15, 2006 at the Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc.737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 with Pastor Lewis Glick officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 6-8 PM Friday and one hour prior to the service. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be given to Agape’ Home Assisted Living Residence 4445 S. Brooks Rd 49444.
