It is impossible to mention the number of times my wife Ida Ann Anderson mentioned to me that her brightest star was Lureen, as well as her best friend since 6th grade. Ann meant it then, throughout all the next 65 years, and will go on forever. I feel the same way. Probably there are others who will claim this same bond with Lureen, and you know...they are all correct. Lureen's calm confidence in her approach to other humans, such as the troubled ones, was also important to my Ida Ann. They both contributed this healing element to others: I know Psych. Major Ann surely rescued and saved 6 other humans that I know of. One teen climbed out her bedroom window at midnight and walked barefoot across town in the winter rain to our home (Her parents had taken away her shoes. She has a PhD now.). Nobody really counted, but I heard these stories, lasting over years-long efforts sometimes. I am confident that both of these brave and amazingly resourceful women continued saving people lifelong. We will miss her so. David A. Carlson
