Lureen F. Mullally's Obituary
Lureen F. Mullally, age 75, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, June 30, 2019, after courageously battling ALS for five years. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan on October 13, 1943 to Lyle and Florence (Rohr) McNitt. On October 2, 1965 Lureen married Charles Mullally in Muskegon, and they remained together for 53 years making great memories with just a wee bit of bickering on the side. Early on she taught home economics at Mona Shores then spent 30+ years working in estate sales where, as a people person and dedicated collector, she was able to connect with so many. She and Chuck were longtime members of the Community United Methodist Church in North Muskegon. Lureen was also an aerobics dance instructor and was active in numerous organizations, including Muskegon Service League and Questors. In her spare time she enjoyed beach walks, baking bread, traveling (including many visits to grandchildren in Denver), visiting museums, and playing games with friends and family. She dedicated her efforts to those she loved and shared her enjoyment of life with everyone she met. Her gentle, loving personality, playful humor, notorious sweet-tooth and steadfast friendship will forever be remembered by those who knew her. She is survived by her family; husband, Charles Mullally; 2 daughters, Darcy (Eddie) Mullally and Shannon (Ruffo, Marcus and Ani) Mullally; 2 grandchildren, Owen and Maxwell Lyke, and sister, Gert (Oscar) Johnson. A Memorial Service will be at 4:30PM, July 10, 2019 at the Community United Methodist Church (1614 Ruddiman Drive, North Muskegon, MI 49445) with Pastor Jeremy Williams officiating and former Pastor Glenn Wagner assisting. Visitation with the Mullally family will be held one-hour prior at the church. Arrangements by The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444. Memorial contributions in Lureen’s name may be directed to The Susan Mast ALS Foundation, https://www.susanmastals.org/donate.html or to the Community United Methodist Church.
