Lyle L. Norton's Obituary
Mr. Lyle L. Norton, age 84, passed away Tuesday morning, April 8, 2008, at his residence. Lyle was born August 31, 1923, in Pontiac, MI to Lester and Gladys (Smith) Lautenschleger and later adopted by Charles Norton. Mr. Norton married the former Virginia Buining on January 31, 1944 in Hammond, LA. Lyle served his country proudly during WWII in the U.S. Air Force. He was retired from Bennett Pump as a research and development person and had also worked for several tool & die shops during his career. Lyle was a long time member of First Christian Reformed Church where he had served as a Cadet Leader for more than 25 years. Lyle and Virginia loved to travel in their motor home to many different destinations in the United States and were members of several travel clubs. Lyle is SURVIVED by his wife of 64 years, Virginia; 2 sons, James (Sheryl) Norton of Lexington, KY and David (Judy) Norton of Muskegon; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Doris Hanson of Grand Ledge, MI; and several nieces and nephews. with his pastor, Rev. Mike Borgert officiating. VISITATION will be 4-6 PM Friday at the funeral home. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Western Michigan Christian High School. INTERMENT will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
