I was truly blessed by my Uncle Lyle. In my youth, he impressed me as neat and polished. In my maturity he continued giving positive impressions. He was a people person; I think he knew, at least, half of the people in Muskegon county. Being a musician myself, I was always motivated by his wonderful skills on the harmonica. Uncle Lyle could fit into various settings. He and I travelled to the Irish pub in Conklin where Uncle Lyle joined the other musicians as they played the reels, the jigs, etc. blending in wonderfully. Uncle Lyle displayed his polka expertise at the Pulaski lodge in Muskegon. When the relatives would have monthly family meal outings, Uncle Lyle frequently, to the chagrin of my Aunt Pat, dragged out the harmonica to impress the staff. In his military days, Uncle Lyle served 'Uncle Sam' proudly by playing in the military band, state-side no less!(His brothers Ken, Jerry, and Dale, who served beyond the U.S. were not jealous; at least, I don't think so.) If the saying, "A rolling stone gathers no moss" is true, then Uncle Lyle had no moss in his midst because he always impressed me as task oriented; even when he got together for morning and pm coffee with his peers. I will miss you Uncle Lyle, but thank you for leaving me with so many fond memories. Your nephew Marc##imported-begin##Marc Dobberstein##imported-end##
