Lynn M. Butcher's Obituary
Lynn M. Butcher, age 67, of Indianapolis, Indiana (formerly of Grand Haven, Michigan) passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2024, after a several month illness. She was born March 19, 1957, in Grand Haven to George and Bonne (Teunis) Butcher. Lynn graduated from Grand Haven High School Class of 1975, Hope College in 1979 and Valparaiso University School of Law in 1982. Lynn served as an attorney in Indianapolis for the majority of her career.
Lynn loved to read, some might call her a bookworm, a voracious reader or a reading buff! She enjoyed shopping, traveling, science fiction (especially Star Trek), and spending time with her family. She will be missed.
She is survived by her brother Richard (Kurt Kendall) Butcher of Lowell, father George Butcher, one aunt, one uncle and many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bonne.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Monday, August 5, 2024, at the First Reformed Church, 301 Washington Ave, Grand Haven. Visitation will be 2-4 PM Sunday, August 4, 2024, at The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 620 Washington Ave, Grand Haven. Interment will take place in Lake Forest Cemetery, Grand Haven. Memorial contributions in memory of Lynn may be given to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
