My favorite teacher! RIP
My wife had her as her third grade teacher and her name was Rebecca Swarts. Her and her husband Timothy sends their condolences to the family.
Jim, Todd, and Terri - My mom Mary Ann (Camp) Phelan was cousins with Eileen. Eileen and Jim were always a blast to be around, full of joy and humor and kindness. My mom and dad went to Hawaii with Jim and Eileen and had a blast!! They talked about it for years. I had just received a Christmas card from Eileen so I was so shocked to hear of her passing but I know this last year has been hard. She will be forever loved in our memories. I hope Jim is doing well. My sister Meg (Phelan) Brown will be at the funeral. Much love, Paula (Phelan) Patterson
God only takes the best - I can not say enough good about this beautiful lady. She not only was my third grade teacher, but she was also my sponsor when I was confirmed. I was proud to stad on the alter and take the confirmation name of Eileen in honor of her. She made learning fun. The best memory was when she had me go stand in the closet so I would quit laughing - I don't remember what we were laughing about but I do remember I couldn't stop. When I came back to my desk, I was still fighting holding it back and would have succeed if she hadn't looked at me and started laughing herself. We would run into each other at Catholic football games and enjoy catching up. My heart goes out to her family. She truly was one of a kind.
Miss Camp was my third grade teacher and one I could never forget. 3rd grade was BY FAR every child's favorite year if she was the teacher. Her love of learning and love FOR children was so very evident. She made us ALL love school. What a gift! Our sympathy to you all as you grieve this wonderful woman. Please know she is held with reverence in the memory of ALL of "HER kids" We were so blessed. (Mary Beckley Ayer)
I changed schools in the middle of third grade. It was a difficult time for me. However, going to Moon School & being placed in Ms Camps classroom was a gift! She was warm and embracing! She was a very gifted teacher. She touched so many students.
Eileen was one of the most positive and joyous people that I have ever known. She was so supportive after my mother died 6 years ago and was a wonderful wife to Jim. She will be missed.
