One of my earliest memories of Mabel was in Lake City, when I was a little boy, she graciously gave me an Andorra kitten, which we named Punky. Mabel had an exhuberant and joyful presence. I always felt good when I saw her and Bill. my mother, Grace, 98, remarked that Mabel was about 3 months older and through the years they always had a special bond of friendship, that even preceeded her marriage to Bill in late 1934. my parents, Art & Grace used to enjoy traveling to other cousins around Michigan with Bill & Mabel, because they enjoyed their company. Mabel was loyal, intelligent and also a radiant Christian woman that had a profound influence on many of us. Dear Jo, Lori and I are sharing in your loss. We appreciated your mom for the sparkle in her eye that was always there. She always made you feel welcome even when you were welcoming her. Grandmother & Grandfather Hage were absolutely wonderful human beings. They were as good to me, an in-law, as if I was their own. She was always so generous to us. She showered love and affection on her Grandson, my husband Jon, and me and our daughters. We will miss her forever, never forget her, and are better people because of her influence. She lived a good, Godly life and now she is with Grandpa in Heaven, where she couldn't wait to get. I can just imagine them now, back together and content in each other's company.
