Every summer I arrived In Muskegon so excited to see Allyson, but so shy, it was nearly impossible for me to ring the doorbell and say hi. Inevitably, Maggie and Chuck would pop out and give hugs and welcomes and send me upstairs to Allyson's room to reconnect. I spent a lot of time each summer with Maggie and Chuck and Allyson, and every one of my summers is full of memories of the Kozals. Maggie was powerfully kind and quiet - not retiring, but rather purposeful in her approach and her love. I remember Maggie and Chuck comforting me when my grandfather died - they each took time to be there for me when my parents had their own grief to deal with and made sure I was loved. The kindness they both showed to me my entire childhood in many ways helped me to be a better parent and helped me understand how much I can help my own daughter's friends. They both have left an imprint on me and my heart is heavy knowing there is one less Kozal in this world.
Allyson, I am always only a phone call away. I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom was a very dear lady and will be missed my many.
We are very sorry for your loss Tom & Linda Kozal
I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom was one of a kind, and she treasured you and Sam. Praying for strength for you to get thru this time of pain. I have so many memories that I will cherish.

For my little girl’s baby shower, she made the most beautiful burp cloths and stuffed elephant. We thought of her often because her burp cloths were everywhere. To this day, my daughter adores elephants. She was so thoughtful to make these precious gifts for me, a friend of her daughter who she never met. I’m so thankful she got to meet my baby once she was born. Her giving spirit and talents live on in the beauttiful, strong women who succeed her - Allyson and Sam.
Maggie, we will always remember how wonderful you were to us each summer when we returned to Muskegon to visit the folks. It was great having you and Chuck right next door to Alan's folks. We always had a refuge when we needed time away from relatives, too. It's amazing that our kids "grew up" together every summer. I think of the sparklers and gymnastics that Allyson, Becky, and our Anne did almost every night on the driveways and lawns. I, also, remember the infamous canoe trip where Allyson rode with Alan and HE sank the canoe! If it hadn't been for Chuck, that canoe would still be in the White River! You guys made our time in Muskegon wonderful. You will be sorely missed.
