Mrs. Margaret A. Kozal's Obituary
Margaret A. Kozal, 71, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, October 11, 2017. She was born September 23, 1946 to George R. and Jean A. (Garrow) Doctor in Muskegon, and was a lifelong resident. Margaret was an elementary school teacher for 30 years before retiring, teaching mainly at Carr Elementary. She enjoyed quilting, reading, spending time at Lake Michigan, and Tigers baseball. On August 9, 1969 she married Charles A. “Chuck” Kozal, Jr., and he preceded her in death on April 25, 2009. Survivors include her daughter, Allyson (Scott) Handley; her granddaughter, Samantha; brother, Ken (Linda) Doctor; sister, Linda Doctor; in-laws, Bill Kozal, Betty (John Stott) Kurtz, Florence (Jeff Glass) Predko; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Kathy Hamilton; a great-niece, Haven Swab; her aunt, Margaret Knudson; and her sister-in-law, Deborah Kozal. The funeral service for Margaret will be held Monday, October 16, at 2:00 PM at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100, with Rev. Thomas Siefert officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Mona View Cemetery. You may visit the family’s online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com.
