Mrs. Marilyn Fay DeHaan of Norton Shores/Grand Rapids, born October 23, 1925, passed from this life to be present with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 2, 2016. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin R. D Read Obituary
"A Human Angel" We just can't describe Marilyn in any other way.We were so privileged to have had such a woman in our midst at Maranatha.She was such a Godly,gracious,lovely,soft spoken and talented person.A woman who mothered such a wonderful and respected family.She will be so deeply missed by all who knew her.
We are aware of one of her sons,who is a senior pastor here in our city of Tucson,AZ where which we reside.He will be conducting the Memorial Service of his mother this coming Monday.We pray that Gods presence will be felt as her son Chris delivers a heart felt message to all that attend.These comments are sent with abundant Love and Adoration of a woman we won't soon forget.

To all who knew and loved Marilyn: She was the older sister of my husband Ron and a beautiful , generous , caring woman whom I have always admired. Her concern for others was genuine. She made it a point to keep photos and write letters of encouragement to others in the family and this was always so appreciated. I recall that she shared from her travel experiences in such a creative and interesting way, with drawings and interesting detail so that when we traveled to those locations, we had a treasure trove of detail to follow. Her artistic ability was superb! I know she did a lot in that regard for causes at Maranatha Bible Conference ~ a place she dearly enjoyed. Her reaching out to nieces and nephews was remarkable and I will forever be thankful that several of my children had the opportunity to spend time with her. Her cheerful demeanor will also be remembered. Hospitality was key in her home and she did that well, taking lots of time to make others feel welcome . I have been very blessed by the Johnson 5 and am saddened to see the last one gone from our lives, but I will forever be grateful to have been a part of this marvelous family. My deepest condolences go to each of the DeHaan children and all the other family members whom , I know will miss Marilyn. Love and blessings to each one !

In 1972 Marilyn began hosting a weekly women's Bible study in her home where many women through the next few years studied the Word and shared their lives with one another. She was always a gracious, warm hostess, setting a beautiful table of refreshments...and occasionally 'sketching' all of us sitting around the living room with our Bibles open. She was a talented artist; a beautiful woman in every way. smiled easily, made all of us feel welcome. Her efforts brought Christ and His mercy to the forefront; gals were saved and grew in the Lord. I look forward to seeing her again in Glory.
