I am a bit down today because I have an important Dr. appt and cannot make it to Norton Shores to celebrate the life of my Aunt Marilyn.
She was a favorite of mine because she was such an warm person and her warmth made family visits, which were infrequent for us, feel familiar and welcoming. I loved talking with Aunt Marilyn. When my Aunt spoke with you she gave you her full attention and made you feel like you and whatever you had to share was the most important thing to her. As those who had the pleasure to speak with her knew she would easily extend any conversation by sharing her own thoughts or more often asking you questions to which she listened intently to your answers. She was the rarest of people who you could talk with endlessly and you always felt better afterward.
I will miss her very much. She was one of the who made the Dykstra's feel like family to me.
