Marilyn J. Dykstra's Obituary
Marilyn J. Dykstra, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. She was born on December 28, 1934 in Muskegon to Clifford and Aileen (Stockhill) Bell of Ravenna, MI.
She married Nickolas Dykstra on June 30, 1956. He preceded her in death on July 16, 2002. They were long time residents of Sullivan Township.
Marilyn was a member of the Ravenna American Legion Auxiliary Post 297 for 60 years and a member of Twin Lake Community Church. She served many years as a teacher’s aide for Updyke and Beech Elementary Schools. Marilyn loved to sew, attend great grandchildren’s sporting events and talk to anyone that would listen.
Marilyn is survived by two sons, Thomas (Katlin) Dykstra of Norton Shores and Dan (Heidi) Dykstra of Parchment, MI; two daughters, Laureen “Laurie” (Thomas) Greene of Whitehall and Shelly Posobiec of Erath, Louisiana; three grandsons; five granddaughters; 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Wilma Piccard and Sandra (Tom) Christmas; brother, Lester Bell and many nieces and nephews. Marilyn was preceded in death by both parents, Clifford and Aileen Bell; brother, Eugene Bell; sister, Eloise Grabe and sister-in-law, Patricia Bell.
FUNERAL SERVICES for Marilyn will be 11AM Monday, November 17, 2025 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100. VISITATION with the family will be 1 hour prior the service, from 10-11AM. Memorial Contributions in Marilyn’s name to the Ravenna American Legion or Twin Lake Community Church will be appreciated.
