To Marilyn's family: We were out of town when we heard the news of your Mother's death. I am so sorry I was not able to meet with you at the funeral home. Your Mom and I were friends since Junior High School. We chased boys in the 10th grade and I had many sleep-overs at your grandparent's home. Over the years we kept in touch, but then college, marriage, etc. kind of let us drift apart. She didn't attend our last class reunion and I missed her presence. She was always so much fun and we had a lot of laughs. Please accept my sincere sympathy.

I had to share this entry from "Life Struggles" by Gertrude Piersma who was Marilyn's Grandmother. In her little book she writes, "John and Cecilia (Marilyn's parents) stopped in while we were eating supper, with Kerri Lee, their little grandson. This is the oldest son of Marilyn. He goes to school so must be five years old. A handsome chap. John is quite well and expects to go to work soon."

I remember Marilyn and Syb from when i was just a kid and we would go to Grand Haven to visit. I have great memories of going to Kris' house as a kid and seeing her mom, dad, brother and sisters. Kris' house was always so active and fun, always something going on. Mrs. Wayne had a very exciting personality and I think she was a big part of why it was so great to be in their home. I always thought you had the coolest mom Kris! Our hearts go out to you and your family. Such a vibrant person as your mom will be greatly missed.
