Mark A. Rice's Obituary
Mark A. Rice, age 63, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 4, 2024 while attending the Paul Rice Memorial Race at Crystal Motor Speedway. He was born on September 11, 1960 in Muskegon to John and Margaret (Krehn) Rice, Sr. Mark resided his life in the area, and worked for TGW Ermanco for almost 30 years in Muskegon in many different capacities. Mark loved everything about yard sales: the thrill of the hunt, the joy of finding treasures, and even the occasional duplicate purchases. He also relished outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing, and muzzle loading. However, he was perhaps best known for his year-round passion for Christmas, embracing it in various ways throughout the year. On May 5, 1993 he married the former Christine Anderson, and celebrated 31 years marriage a few months ago. SURVIVORS include his wife, Christine; son, Mark (Ilene) Rice; grandchildren, Kayla Robinson and Stephanie Robinson; step-son, Samuel Maclam; brothers, John (Tammy) Rice, Andy (Beth) Rice; sisters, Mary (John) Pettit, Michelle (Tim) Beckley, April Rice and sister-in-law, Jean Rice; along with many nieces and nephews. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Rice; and brothers, Tim Rice and Paul Rice. FUNERAL SERVICES for Mark will be 11 AM Thursday, August 8, 2024 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100 with Pastor Bill Rudd officiating. VISITATION with his family and friends will be 1 hour prior to the service.
