Marva Jacobson's Obituary
Mrs. Marva Jacobson, age 94, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, January 8, 2024 in Muskegon, Michigan. She was born in Muskegon on August 17, 1929 to John and Reka (Hyma) Huizenga. She graduated from Muskegon High School, class of 1947, and remained a lifelong Big Reds fan. On May 25, 1951, Marva married Wallace “Wally” Jacobson in Muskegon. She was employed by the Greater Muskegon Credit Union for over 25 years prior to her retirement in 1994. Marva was a member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church where she spent many years as a Calvinette’s Counselor and taught Vacation Bible School. She was an avid golfer, having made three holes-in-one, and played into her 90’s with her golf buddy, Doris. Marva was passionate about many things; shopping, interior design, watching sports, and weekend camping trips to Ludington State Park when the kids were growing up. She also enjoyed running and ran several 5K races between the ages 70 - 75. Most importantly, Marva loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and she enjoyed spending time with each and every one of them. Marva is survived by her children, Tom (Peggy) Jacobson and Cheryl (Chris) Hall; three grandchildren, Lauren (Jeff) Langlois, Dustyn (Kaitlyn) Fett, and Torrie Fett (fiance, Hayden Hall); and four great-grandchildren, Locklynn, Everlynn, and Rosalynn Langlois and Ava Fett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wally Jacobson, parents, one brother, five sisters, two brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law. Her MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 2:00 PM Friday, January 19, 2024 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
