Mary Ellen Blood's Obituary
Mary Ellen Blood, age 57, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020. She was born on February 8, 1963 in Saginaw, MI. Mary was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children beyond measure. She especially loved being a granny. No one took that role more seriously than Mary and her grandchildren can speak to that. She had the biggest heart one could ever ask for and it showed in the way she loved her family and friends. Mary was cherished by the love of her life, Charles. They were truly each other’s soulmates. Despite her large family, Mary made time for everyone by providing support and love. She loved dolphins and always dreamed of swimming with them. Mary also loved jewelry and lots of it, the color yellow and she loved to swim, which she called it her aqua-therapy. She also enjoyed old western movies and the sci-fi channel. She loved kids so much her dream was to adopt a child and help them feel so loved. Despite whatever situation was presented, Mary was tough as nails. She always fought through anything thrown her way. Her legacy will continue to live on through her children and grandchildren. The best way she dealt with life was to reminisce with family and friends about old times. If you ever had the opportunity to sit and listen to the stories, they were the best. As you read this, you are most likely hearing her laugh and seeing her smile. She is survived by her children, Ira “Bo” (Brittany) Shine, Fatima (Nate) Peltier, Tony (Angie) Curry, Sr.; loving partner, Charles; mother, Marjorie Mundt; grandchildren, Jemma, Stella, Anija, Dean, Tony, Garrison, Briana and DeAsia; stepchildren, Dominique, Phatima and Earmer Cox; many step grandchildren, several siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews and several very best friends. She is was preceded in death by her father, Howard Mundt; brother, Paul Blood; and adoptive parents, Donna Backer and Charles “Chuck” Blood. A FUNERAL SERVICE for Mary will take place on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 3:00 PM at The Lee Chapel of the Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444.
