Aunt Mary’s spirit was full of life. She had a light that exuded from her smile and a contagious laugh that could fill any room she was in. She had many fun quirks, like loving the character Goofy so much that she decorated a whole Christmas tree themed after him. Or how she would hum when she ate good food, enjoying the simple things. She was so very intentional in how she fostered connections with others by engaging in fun activities, showing up in support to extracurriculars, and sending thoughtful texts out of the blue so that you knew she was thinking of you. She made sure to show genuine interest in what others cared about. I admire how Aunt Mary embraced who she was and beat her own path in life, even in the midst of social climates that were less than accepting at times. She was a hard worker and took pride in what she did. Aunt Mary was an example of joy and resilience and will be greatly missed.
