As a longtime friend and advisor for Mary, I was very saddened and shocked to hear about her passing..she was engaging, energetic, at times confrontational for good reasons as it related to her investments. Meime was certainly dedicated to her lake and conservation board here in Holland. We didn't know her that many years but enjoyed her enthusiasm. We would mention a place we wanted to go and found she had already been there, The Caron's put on a farewell party for her the day before she left Holland for Michigan, and she had a wonderful sendoff from her neighbors and the many people she had worked with.##imported-begin##Don and Marcia Beal##imported-end##
Our thoughts and prayers are with all on the family at this time. Meimi and I were friends from high school and girl scouting days. She will be missed.

You will be greatly missed, MeiMe. I have such fond memories of meeting on and off the lake in Holland. About this time of year we looked for you and Jan to come through the tunnel, under the road to visit our side of the lake. Unfortunately, that meant that the winter would be almost upon us, yet we were happy to see you. Working with you at Town Hall was a pleasure. I truly admired your forth-righteousness and honesty - you were a bright symbol for the town, and, all of us. You made my job as Town Clerk so much easier during elections as I could always depend upon you to take charge and run the election 'correctly'. I did get to see you last year on a visit - wish I had given you an extra hug. I was surprised that you had moved - and sadly surprised that you had left us. As a neighbor of MeMe and Jan we will miss her. She was such a warm, friendly, and always willing to help type of person. I'll miss our morning talks and words of wisdom. It was sad to see her leave for Michigan but even sadder to know I will never see her again. You are in God's hands Mary, God Bless You

We were so sorry to hear of Mary's passing. We are neighbors here on Hamilton Reservoir. When we saw her before she left she expressed such excitement about her big move and new home. we were so sad to learn about Meime's sudden passing. She was a good friend and she did a lot for Holland. So sorry to find out she never got to move in, but if it offers any consolation to her family and friends, I'd like you to know how happy and excited she was during the planning, building and moving process. She would come in to the town hall with updates and pictures of her new home in its various stages of completion and show everyone. We go back many years in Girl Scouting in Hartford. She trained me to be a trainer and I still have her remarks on my paper.
My girls remember her as vivacious at camp with her song leading doing all kinds of action with her songs.
She and Jan were good friends and they will both be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Meime's passing. I have known her for 35 years
