Doug and Gwen - You know our thoughts and prayers have been with you each day since we first heard the news of Matt's death. Our five girls are all grieving for you too. They didn't know Matt that well, but you two have always been so special to our family. Al has always had special memories of the many years he and Doug have been friends too. We both remember the picnic at Silver Lake when Gwen was pregnant for Amy and was waterskiing! Also the night you two spent in our small mobile home, where Amy slept in the bathtub! We remember Matt's Eagle scout ceremony and when we visited him and Tina to deliver a boy baby gift for Taylor because the announcement was in blue and we thought she was a boy! We loved spending the night in your home in Shipshewana with our girls and played cards under a lantern because you had no electricity! (Matt was trying to watch TV on a small gas generated one, and he couldn't get good reception because of the toilet flushing so many times!) An Amish friend of yours also made a foot strap for Kathy's drum, and we enjoyed the high school graduation open houses for Amy and Matt with all your Amish friends there too.
