Matthew David Gardner Noren's Obituary
Matthew David Gardner Noren, age 55, went to his heavenly Father on Monday, April 24, 2023, after a tragic sailboat accident in Florida. He was born April 28, 1967, in Muskegon, MI, to Douglas and Gwendolyn (Gardner) Noren. He loved his job as a rigger for Florida Rigging and Hydraulics in Riviera Beach, FL. Matthew loved being on the water and was a competitive sailboat racer. He had the opportunity to race on the Pacific, Caribbean and Atlantic oceans and participated in the Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac twenty-four times. He was very active in the Boys Scouts of America and was an Eagle Scout himself.
Matthew grew up in Spring Lake, MI and Shipshewana, IN and currently resided in Stuart, FL. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Tina Marie of 27 years; daughter, Taylor; son, Alexander; parents, Doug and Gwen Noren; sister, Mary Bigelow; sister-in-law Kim Neff; Mark Himes and Mark Fleischer; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Amy Elizabeth, and will be laid to rest next to her at the Spring Lake Township Cemetery.
A FUNERAL SERVICE will be 11 AM on Friday, May 12, 2023, at the Spring Lake Presbyterian Church (760 E. Savidge St., Spring Lake, MI 49456) with Rev. Dan Anderson officiating. The service may be viewed online at www.slpc.org/livestream. In Matthew’s memory, MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be directed to the Boy Scouts of America Troop 37 Trailer Fund.
