My Uncle Mel, was one of the most truly joyful people I ever knew, and he took his greatest joy, by giving joy to others, it is hard for me to think about Melvin with out remembering the corny jokes he liked to tale, and he would tale them over, and over, to who ever he had yet to shear them with, and although he would give you a smile when he told you the joke, you could help but smile all over again when you watched him tale it again to someone else, I will truly miss my Uncle Mel, but when ever I think about him, all I will ever see in my minds eye is his JOY!!##imported-begin##Roger D. Doris, Sandy and Larry:
Hi, our deepest of sypmathy to you all. Mom is 91 now-and still lives down the street from Mona & Kenny. I was in contact with some of the Reiches kids-while the fires in San Diego area was happening. Donna, June & I went to the Covered Bridge Festival this Fall-as we do every year. Saw Connie when she was at Watseka for a Wedding. Wayne & I live by Bloomington, Il. Loved Viola to peices. She was my second MOM! I had heard Melvin was not well, but it's never easy to let a loved one go. I still miss my Dad very much. It's been 15 years. I have special memories of your family. Again our thought and prayers are with you at this sad time!

Have you ever noticed how our lives are similiar to a flowers?
It starts from a single seed and with love and nutering it grows into something wonderful as it blossoms. Some time during its life cycle it gives off seeds to create plants in it likeness and those plants grow and create more plants. Soon you have not just one plant but a garden full of beatuful flowers. Even if a flower is cut, it can continue to bloom into somthing beautiful, until finally it starts to wither and then fade. Once its life is ended, we return it to the earth. And although the bloom is gone we can remember its beatuy and the pleasure it gave us.
And so it was with my father. He was loved and nutered by his parents and when one of them was gone another family (the Weinrank's) stepped in and the continued the nutering. He blossomed into the man we knew and loved. Even though he was very like the parent plants he was unique in his own right. As he continue to grow he gave off 2 offspring (Sandra and Larry). Those offspring grew in his likeness and they created offspring, and soon we had a beatuful garden, called Family. Although dad was cut off nearly at the root by his health problems, he contined to bloom, giving joy and pleasure to those that knew him. Finally no matter how he was loved and cared for he began to wither and fade away. Although we had to give him back to the earth, he will forever remain in our hearts. The family continues to grow in his likeness, and will always be reminded what a beautiful person he was and what great joy he gave to all that knew him.

(Sent earlier to the family) I was so sorry to hear that Uncle Mel had passed away. I know it's bittersweet. We want so much for them to stay but for their relief from suffering we want them to go. It's our blessing that God has it worked out that one second they are here and a split second later they are THERE. In passing through deaths door he was healed and will never, never, limp, again. So many who loved him were on both sides cheering for him. Love sending him to heaven, love receiving him in.
I know it doesn't mean so much now when everyone is hurting and so full of sorrow but when I am ready to step through that door myself, I will be so happy to have him waiting for me. He'll have a big smile and a great joke about Heaven. I bet he'll meet me even before my Mom. He's that great of a welcoming committee. Blessing to Aunt Doris and the whole family. I am very sorry for your loss. I respected Mel very much in the 14 years I knew him. One of the things I remember most is how much he enjoyed his BMW motorcycle and how he would talk about it and his coffee buddies.

Uncle Melvin was one of the kindest men I have ever known. He always had a sweet word for everyone he knew. His kind nature always reminded me of my mother, his sister, Rosella.
I will miss him even though I didn't get to see him that often. I so enjoyed seeing him with Aunt Doris the last time we stopped in to say hello. I'll treasure that memory forever.##imported-begin##Claudette Fisher##imported-end##
