Merle Edith Proctor's Obituary
Mrs. Merle Edith Proctor, age 82, went to be with her Lord on Monday, November 11, 2019. She was born in Trent, Michigan on February 12, 1937 to Fred and Fredah (Stimson) Stark. Merle graduated from Sparta High School. She married Gerald C. Proctor on July 15, 1978 and he preceded her in death on October 22, 2012. Merle had been employed by Gospel Films and had also owned Acker Lake Campground. She was a local artisan selling her artwork of local historical buildings and beaches in the West Michigan area at many art shows. Merle also enjoyed selling vintage treasures at several local consignment shops. She was a member of First Free Methodist Church of Muskegon and her greatest passion was serving the Lord. She is survived by her children, Sherri Mey, Randy (Rhonda) Carlson, Chuck (Kathy) Carlson and Carla DeWall; step-children, Charles (Beth Iams) Proctor, Steven (Kathy) Proctor, Bruce (Kathy) Proctor, Todd (Tatiana) Proctor and Joni Simmons; 30 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and three sisters, Marlene (Ray) Andrus, Lucynne (Don) Schaefer, and Elaine (Bud) Carlson. In addition to her husband, Merle was preceded in death by her parents, two sons-in-law, two sisters, two brothers, one granddaughter, and two great-grandsons. SERVICES will be 2:00 PM Thursday, November 14, 2019 at First Free Methodist Church of Muskegon (1400 E Hile Rd, Norton Shores, MI 49441) with Rev. Carlos Ramos officiating. VISITATION will be from 12-2 PM Thursday at church. Burial will be in Egleston Township Cemetery. MEMORIALS in memory of Merle may be directed to First Free Methodist Church of Muskegon
