Ed and I knew Mike as a classmate at Union High School. The guys played football together. Ed says he was always clearing the path so Ed could make a few yards. He was one of the best players on the team. We still have a framed picture of him and Ed and the others that made all city that year. He was a tough soft spoken guy, the kind of player you wanted on your team.
I posted about his passing on our class site, and lots expressed their sympathy to you and yours. We send ours as well.

Dear Oleszczuk Family,
Morgan and I are so sorry for your loss of Mike. My fondest memory of Mike is not just one but a conglomeration of memories that proved him to be one of the kindest, sweetest, and warmest men I have known. Annette, when you took less experienced teachers under your wing, and took us to your home, we had some wacky and heartfelt times. We had to have driven Mike nuts, but he was always so supportive and would even throw in a few humorous tidbits of advice to us from time to time.
Mike knew I needed your freindship and mentorship to help me grow as a teacher and as a person, and he welcomed me to spend the time with you that I did. He was a good man, and he loved you and your family dearly.
