Michael Oleszczuk's Obituary
Michael A. Oleszczuk, Jr., age 80, of Chapin, South Carolina, formerly of Fruitport, Michigan, and born in Grand Rapids, MI. Michael is survived by his wife of 49 years, Emeline Annette; sons, Michael, III (Heather) of Aurora, Colorado and Nicholas (Ashley) of Chapin, SC; and favorite grandchild, Dalton.
Michael was a man of few words and honest actions. He built a life with his hands as a blue-collar man. Mike would often say he was very proud of the 25 years he worked in the GM Plant in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He loved open water, the Michigan Wolverines, a Saturday baseball game, and a good beer.
In retirement, he lived to the fullest, visiting most but not all of the major league baseball parks and National Parks with his wife. Helping his friends and family with chores and home repairs were a daily hobby of his. If he wasn’t an already gifted welder, he may have had a second career as a craftsman.
He knew the best things in life aren’t always free, but they are where the heart is.
He passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025, and will be missed and loved, but not forgotten.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 4:00 PM Monday, April 28, 2025 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with a MEMORIAL OPEN HOUSE following from 5-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Van-Andel Institute Parkinson Disease Center.
