Michael David Robillard's Obituary
Mr. Michael David Robillard, age 64, passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 in Grand Rapids, Michigan following a brief illness. He was born in Muskegon on November 8, 1952 to Gerald and Kathleen (Swears) Robillard. Mike graduated from Orchard View High School, class of 1970. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served as a flight medic during the Vietnam War. Mike was currently employed as a sales manager for Morrison Industrial Equipment, a company he was employed at for over 30 years. He was an active member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church where he served as head usher. Mike was a MHSAA basketball and football referee for over 40 years, and also refed at the collegiate level. He spent many years coaching little league baseball, and was currently the assistant varsity baseball coach at Muskegon Catholic Central High School. Mike was inducted into the National Association of Sports Officials Hall of Fame in 2014. Later this year, he will be receiving the Distinguished Service Award from The Muskegon Area Sports Hall of Fame. On July 19, 1975, Mike married the former Wanda Bradford in Tampa, Florida and she survives him along with their children, Allison (Andrew) Kolbe and Eric Robillard; one grandson, Akron; his mother, Kathleen (Art) St.Amour; five sisters, Diane (Bob) Kartes, Pam Sorensen, Cindy (Rusty) Stone, Annette (Jeff) Ream and Brenda (Steve) Bozik and one brother, Mark Robillard. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Robillard and niece, Jessica Stone. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church (1100 Dykstra Rd., North Muskegon 49445) with Rev. Fr. Peter G. Vu presiding. VISITATION will be from 4-8 PM Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100. Burial will be in Laketon Township Cemetery. MEMORIALS in Mike’s honor may be made to the Muskegon Catholic Central Baseball Program.
