Michael W. Szczerbinski's Obituary
Michael William Szczerbinski, age 71, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020. He was born on September 5, 1949 to William and Maxine (Besaw) Szczerbinski in Muskegon. Mike worked for Howmet for 37 loyal years until his retirement in January of 2005. He was a faithful and active member of Lebanon Lutheran Church in Whitehall. Mike will be remembered by his wonderful sense of humor and how he always loved telling a good joke. He was a very social person that led him into joining the camping and car club, where he met many friends over the years. Mike had a passion for Detroit sports, he would watch the Lions, Tiger and Red Wings play. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Lois Szczerbinski; daughters, Michelle (Thomas) Pant, Monica (Jeff) Rinckey; grandchildren, Morgan Pant, Mallory Pant, Hunter McFadden; brother Chuck (Ona) Nelson; sister, Ann (Richard) Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Donna Murphy. A LIMITED CAPACITY VISITATION with Mike’s family will take place on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at The Sytsema Chapel of the Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave. Muskegon, MI 49442 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. A PRIVATE FAMILY FUNERAL SERVICE will take place on Friday, October 9, 2020 at Lebanon Lutheran Church (1101 S. Mears Ave, Whitehall, MI) at 2:00 PM, the service will be broadcasted via Zoom to those who wish to virtually attend. Please call the Funeral Home or Church for the Zoom service information. Burial will take place in Fruitland Township Cemetery. For a more lasting memory, donations in Mike’s name can be made to Lebanon Lutheran Church.
