Michael F. Mayhew's Obituary
Michael F. Mayhew, age 61, of Grand Haven passed away Saturday, June 17, 2006, at a local hospice home in Muskegon. He was born April 9, 1945, to John and Ruth (Leib) Mayhew in Detroit, MI; and married Jan Lucasse on August 23, 1969, in Grand Rapids.
Mike earned a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Western Michigan University and was employed by Ottawa Area Intermediate School District. He was a teacher consultant for the emotionally impaired and learning disabled; and also worked summers for the Michigan Blueberry Growers Assoc. in quality assurance. Mike was an avid golfer and fisherman, and embraced his family and friends with kindness, caring, and humor.
Survivors include his wife Jan; daughter Amy (Lenny) Teske of Grand Rapids; 2 sons, Christopher Mayhew of Grand Haven and Scott (Chrissy) Mayhew of Twin Lake; grandson Kobe Mayhew; 2 brothers, Al (Chris) Mayhew of Port Bruce, Ontario, Canada, and Dan (Beverly) Mayhew of Eugene, Oregon; and nieces and nephews. His parents preceded him in death.
