I remember when Mike and I went to a football game and got into a little trouble and as friends we stood up for each other . Jeff and I were so very sorry to hear about Mike's passing. I have a lot of wonderful memories of Mike from both my child- and adulthood, and Jeff and I both really enjoyed visiting with him when we had the opportunity to do so. He was a pleasure to be around, and his smile, laugh, and overall enjoyment of life were infectious. You couldn't help but relax when you were around him. He will truly be missed by a great many people. The world has lost a wonderful soul and a great man with a huge heart, but heaven has gained one in return. No doubt he'll be watching over his family with love and pride, and over his friends with a smile on his face.

Mike & the Poe family lived just down the road from us on James Street when we were younger. Our parents were friends and we used to go to their cabin. We have lost touch throughout the years but I still remember Mike, he was always soft spoken and kinda shy. Our heart felt sympathies to the family.

I am so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. Mike's parents and my parents were long time friends and we all had such fun times as kids. Our moms were pregnant at the same time. First with Judy and Nancy, then Mike and me, and then Terry and Susan. Many a Sunday afternoon drive would take us over to the Poe's. Mike had a junk drawer and he and I always went through all of his "treasures". I think I still have a small disk made of different colors of broken glass that he gave me. One of his treasures that I just had to have! Our parents remained good friends their entire lives. It's a shame that all of us kids drifted apart. My deepest sympathy to the entire family.
