Michel "Big Mike" Poe's Obituary
Michel D. “Big Mike” Poe, 60, passed away Sunday evening at his residence surrounded by family and friends. Born April 15, 1951 to Lowell and Dolores (Vunck) Poe, he was a life resident of Muskegon. Mike was a graduate of Orchard View High School, and had been a mechanic for many years, last at Terry’s Auto Salvage. Mike enjoyed camping, playing horseshoes, NASCAR, antique cars and Elvis. His SURVIVORS include his wife, the former Cheryl Patterson, whom he married Oct. 23, 1981; his children: Michel “Mikey” (fiancée Heather Griswold) Poe II, Michelle (Rolando) Patino, Daniel Blanchard, and Lisa (fiancé Nick Jankowski) Poe all of Muskegon; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandson; a brother, Timothy (Lisa) Poe of Vero Beach, FL; and two sisters: Judith Cloud of Grant, and Terri (Joe) Suarez of Muskegon. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kristine Poe. The FUNERAL SERVICE for Michel Poe will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 29, 2012 at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444, phone 231-798-1100 with Rev. Gerald F. Hagans officiating, a lunch following in the Lee chapel Family Center, and interment in Mount Ulysses Cemetery, Crystal Valley Twp. at 2:30 P.M. VISITATION will be 6-8 P.M. Wednesday, March 28, 2012.
