Mildred Irene Eveland's Obituary
Mrs. Mildred Irene Eveland, age 96, passed away on September 21, 2015. She was born on August 24, 1919 in Fountain, MI to John and Anna (Townsend) Paxton, and had lived in Muskegon area since 1937. During the war, she worked for Teledyne Continental Motors. She married Norman F. Erb, and they had one daughter together, Karen. Norman preceded her in death in 1978. She then married Ernest A. Eveland in 1979, and he also preceded her in death on July 31, 2008. Through the years, she had worked for the Federal Dept. Store, later Scotty’s Grocery Store, and then retired from Amstore. Mildred loved the Lord, and was associated with First Wesleyan Church. She is SURVIVED by her daughter Karen J. Rossman; grandchildren, Dale (Janet) Rossman, Connie (Dave) Daniels, and Ned Henion; 19 great grandchildren; and 31 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Norman; second husband Ernest; parents; brother, Ferris Paxton; and sister, Mable Buffenburger. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 11AM on Thursday September 24, 2015 at The Sytsema Chapel 737 Apple Ave., 231-726-5210 with Rev. Michael Schultz officiating. VISITATION will be held on Wednesday September 23, 2015 from 5-7pm at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions can be made to The First Wesleyan Church.
