Mildred "Millie" I. Wickstra's Obituary
Mildred I. “Millie” Wickstra, passed into glory on Saturday, April 11, 2020. She was born on October 7, 1926 to Oscar and Alma Olson in Muskegon, MI. She graduated from Muskegon High School with honors. Right after graduation she met her soul mate, Jay Wickstra after he returned from serving in the Navy during WW II on D-Day. They fell in love and were married 68 years, prior to Jay preceding her in death in 2015. Millie taught Sunday School, became a floral designer, worked as an accountant, and narrated Jay’s “Chalk Talk” programs sharing her faith with others. Millie is survived by daughters, Charlene Krass, and Carrie Wilson; grandchildren, John Krass, Steven and Jill Wilson, Joshua and Minglu Krass, and Brian and Jean Wilson. Also surviving her are nine great grandchildren, Dominick, Amata, Felix, Lincoln, and Jasper Jay Wilson, and Liam, Crosby, Aubrey and Ace Krass; and sister, Dorothy Larson; along with several nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. Millie was also preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Melody Wilson; and three brothers, Peter VanDyke, Harry VanDyke, and Martin Olson. Private family services were held.
